Rumble in the Riverlands
A ward at Rivertree Hall
House Blackwood was granted stewardship of Silas Harlaw after the fall of the Pyke when House Harlaw stood with the Grayjoys instead of bending a knee to King Robert. Silas grew up with Lucas and Alishia but they never became great friends. Silas does spend a fair amount of time with Luther and Lucas in the yard or out on hunts but his argumentative nature and inflated sense of self worth make it difficult for anyone who truly knows him to be his friend. For those who don’t know him well they find that he is a charming and pleasant young man. Silas is gifted with a silver tongue and as such has a way with words that can turn most anyone to his side. While he has been very poplar with the ladies of court his skill with words has not gained him any traction with Alishia whom Silas is openly infatuated with. While Alishia has rejected all of his advances he is confident that they will one day be married. Being the second son of Lord Harlaw Silas does have a lot of political prestige and marriage between himself and Alishia would strengthen House Blackwood, a fact that he reminds Lord Tytos of. When he is not trying to win the affections or the hand of Alishia Silas is the life of the party. A strong and handsome youth Silas is easy to talk with and pleasing to look upon, attributes he exploits for his own personal gain. For all his appearances Silas is actually a clever and hard working young man. While he may avoid physical labor or rigorous training he does work tirelessly to improve his connections and gain favor from wealthy and powerful lords. All who know Silas well have no doubts that he will rise high upon returning to the Iron Islands.
